Senior Management

Chris Murray

Managing Director
BE (Hons), MIEAust, GAICD, AMP

Chris Murray joined Energy Power Systems Australia as Managing Director in October 2018.

Chris has over 30 years of experience in sectors including energy, renewables, resources, project development and technology development in Australia and internationally. Prior roles include eleven years in Executive General Manager roles at Energy Developments Limited, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at ReNu Energy Limited and Chief Executive Officer at Solar Systems Pty Ltd.

He studied an Advance Management Business Program at Harvard Business School, has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of New South Wales, is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a member of Engineers Australia. Chris was a Non-Executive Director for the Leukaemia Foundation for seven years, a not-for-profit organisation supporting patients with blood cancer and their families.

Chris Baveystock

Chief Financial Officer

Chris was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Energy Power Systems Australia in October 2021, with responsibility for financial control, treasury and reporting, legal and commercial, information technology and procurement functions.

Chris has over 25 years of experience as a finance executive in both listed and privately owned groups covering mergers and acquisitions, acquisition integration, financing, project evaluation and review, bids and tenders, and all facets of financial reporting. His most recent roles were as Chief Financial Officer of Tech2 and Infigen Pty Limited prior to which he held number of senior finance roles at the Tenix Group and Transfield Services.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant qualifying with the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales (ICAEW).

Marcel Heijkoop

General Manager – Rental Solutions

Marcel leads the national EPSA Engine Solutions business. A values based leader, Marcel is responsible for developing and executing the company’s growth strategy, delivering innovative engine/energy solutions and fortifying customer experience.

Marcel is a highly effective Executive Manager with an indefatigable record of strategically transforming business units from average to exceptional. Accustomed to operating in highly competitive premium brand environments, Marcel leverages over 20 years’ experience leading strategic transformation. A visionary leader, Marcel empowers his people to employ ‘best practice’ to drive ‘above the line’ results, increase safety performance and create genuine cultural unity.

Marcel received his MBA and GCertBA at The University of Adelaide, is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and member of the CEO Institute and Board Directions.

Grant Stubbs

General Manager – Large Power Solutions

Grant Stubbs joined Energy Power Systems as General Manager Operations in January 2020. Grant has over 20 years experience in sectors including infrastructure, services and industrials. Beginning his career as a graduate engineer at Caterpillar and spent 10 years working in the Caterpillar and Cat Dealer system in Australia and Indonesia. In addition Grant has held executive leadership positions at Emeco Holdings, Spotless Group and UGL Ltd. Most recently Grant was Chief Executive of Pumps United.

At Energy Power Systems Grant is responsible for Project Delivery, Engineering, Generation Services, the Marine Excellence Centre and the Central Distribution Centre. Through his career Grant has had a particular focus on safety and wellbeing and believes in keeping customers first, developing great teams and helping them succeed. Grant holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Melbourne, an MBA from Melbourne Business School and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Scott Bennett

General Manager – Engine Solutions

Scott Bennett joined Energy Power Systems as Manager for the Marine Excellence Centre in October 2021. Scott has over 20 years’ experience, initially starting in the Semiconductor industry and for the past 15 years in leading national OEM and contract teams in major industries including mining, agriculture, marine, infrastructure, transport, and power. In addition Scott has held executive leadership positions at National Pump and Energy and AllightSykes. His most recent role before joining EPSA was Branch Manager for Penske Australia in Perth.

At Energy Power Systems Scott is responsible for Engine Solutions and the Marine Excellence Centre. Scott is a results-focused leader with a passion for mentoring. He leads by empowering his team to make decisions based on company values and strategic goals.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical) and Business Management from the Colorado School of Mines. He is also the Western Australia Leader for the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Association and a member of Engineers Australia.

Caroline Power

General Manager - Human Resources

Caroline Power joined the HR Team at Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA) in December 2018 and became the Human Resources Manager in December 2019.

Caroline is an experienced senior HR professional who has led strategic and operational human resources for over 15 years. Her experience spans large multi-national manufacturing through to high growth, lean, decentralised companies, operating in manufacturing, highly technical engineering and fast paced FMCG industries.

She has a proven track record of leading people through business transformation by taking a change leadership approach, engaging people and removing ambiguity. Caroline is known for driving culture to create an environment where people thrive and make a big difference, evidenced by high employee opinion survey results.

Lance Deighton

General Manager - HSEQ

Lance joined EPSA in May 2015. Lance has worked extensively in the resources and energy industry and qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety from RMIT.  Lance is skilled in OFSC, ISO 14001, ISO45001 & ISO 9001 accreditation, Emergency Management, Workplace Safety, Risk Management, and Occupational Health.

At EPSA Lance is responsible for overseeing the businesses externally certified Integrated Management System and facilities compliance nationally.

Lance’s HSEQ team actively pursues consultation and communication with EPSA’s employees to ensure continuous improvement in business processes, and provides advice on safe work methods and risk mitigation strategies.
